Military Larkspur C42 VHF Vehicle Radio Bracket
This is part of a British Army Larkspur C42 VHF Vehicle Radio, which is a robust, tactical communication device designed for use in military vehicles. It is part of the Larkspur family of radios used by the British Armed Forces from the 1960s through the 1980s. The C42 model is a vehicle-mounted radio that enables reliable voice and data communications across various military environments, providing secure and clear communication over medium-range distances.
The C42 features a rugged metal casing which this item we found forms part of. It was built to withstand harsh field conditions, with a design focused on durability and ease of operation. The radio typically integrates with vehicle power systems and includes various control interfaces such as frequency selectors, volume controls, and switches. The C42 can be operated manually or with an external handset, and it is capable of transmitting and receiving on multiple frequencies within the VHF spectrum, offering flexibility in tactical operations.
Commonly used in both static and mobile military scenarios, the C42 radio system played a critical role in coordinating infantry, artillery, and armored units. It was designed to work alongside other Larkspur radios, forming a comprehensive communication network for the British Army.
